Hey everyone,

I will be there attending the painting competition :)

But I might as well bring some of my finished Griffin models for a small game. I haven\'t tried the game myself, so this might be a very good opportunity to give it a first try... :)

Sure, I\'ll take my wulfen along for the ride. I\'ll also be entering the painting competition, so I thought I would post up some pics of my (still unfinished) piece:

Nice job you did on that mini... my only criticism is that the gold nmm looks a bit too plain.

but then again the base looks amazing!

i\'ll be posting my mini\'s I finished during my summer holidays as soon as I upload them here....

pimpo, I hope you aren\'t in the same category as me, because I\'m going to have a tough competition then :D
(I don\'t really expect winning, but why bother :p)

Well it isn\'t really NMM gold, nor is it metallic. I was experimenting with metal medium from valejo paints. The medium is mixed into the paint and by th eend it was given a wash with extremely tinned down metalic medium.

At first I was using the normal NMM gold, but that just looked plain weird when combined with the medium (it was an artificially created shine effect, combined with a real shine effect, wich only worked if the light hit the miniature in the same way that I imagined it.

Guess that\'s sorta difficult to get right with a camera though, you\'ll just have to wait till the 6th! ;)

Ik zal aan mijn kameraad die meekomt vragen of hij zijn digitale camera meepakt, en misschien kan Memnoch zijn camera ook nog meepakken. Die foto\'s komen in ieder geval op mijn site in de vorm van een \"event coverage\".

Hey guys,

sorry for the lateness of my reply, but I\'ve been away on vacation.

It seems that there are quite a few amongst you that are willing to come and I must say that it makes me a happy man. It would have been a bit awkward if I had to give a demo without having players who are interested to learn the game.:D

Anyway have fun and cya the 6th. Greetz,

wevin

P.S.: kudos to you el pimpo, it sure seems a breathtaking piece of work you\'ll be entering in the competition.

Thx Wevin. BTW I repainted the gold on the blade today, maybe I\'ll be able to get a few pictures anytime soon.

Be sure to tell me what you think of it then. I think it looks better and it\'s always good to get some feedback before you enter something in a competition... :D

*Sigh*

Corvus, I can\'t really find the words to describe your Sered.

At first I was pretty proud of myself when I looked at my entry for the contest ( not that I was expecting to win! ), then el pimpo posted his mini and I started doubting my painting skills again. Now that I have seen your work, the little hope that was left to finish amongst the best is totally crushed!:(:D

One can only look at the bright side by telling yourself time after time that this is the sort of inspiration one needs to become more experienced and ultimately a pretty good painter.

It is with mixed feelings that I will drag my sorry ace towards Leopoldsburg as both admiration and desperation will be twirling around in my head.

Cya next week,

wevin;)

el pimpo the 2nd one you posted is tight, the base seems to be lacking the definition that the wulfen has in regards to painted contrast. lookin good though so far.

Well the skeletons are going to be \"flocked\" too, to give them the impression that have been there for more then two hours.... :D I didn\'t want to spend too much time on the painting on skellies, because they\'ll be hardly noticable (plus it\'s a valid excuse for the fact that I\'m one of the world\'s most crappy skellie painter... lol )

Thank you for your kind words, Wevin, but honestly I don\'t really expect to win any prizes there :). It\'s the first time ever I will participate in a painting competition, so... and also don\'t forget I\'m only doing this hobby for 1,5 year, so I\'m not as experienced as some of you guys.

See you saturday!
