Here is what I use. and I LOVE it! I use it while my wife sleeps in the next room as I work graveyard. Quiet is an understatement combine this with a badger 105 patriot air brush powerful combo. I got mine on ebay for 99 bucks. all & all I don't have any complaints about the compressor! Small, quiet and there is always air and very little maintenance with this compressor so leaves more time to paint! kicks off when the tank is full and takes about 3 - 5 min to fill the tank once full the compressor kicks off until the tank needs air again. I have had mine for 3 years now, and no issues at all!
Cheers mate!

Thanks, that looks good. I'm in the UK but I've seen similar looking compressors on ebay. I know some companies just re-badge compressors so I may be able to get the same compressor over here. I'll cross reference the specs from your compressor to others I find on ebay.

Thanks for the link and taking the time to reply.

I am right now waiting for my airbrush set to arrive. It has a similar looking compressor and was bought via amazon.de. I will test it as soon as it arrives and may tell you about the first look qualities if you are interested. Price of the compressor alone is about 110€ on amazon.de. Price of my set with two airbrushes hoses, holder, cleaning pot, multi-valve and what not is 172€ which I considered a good deal, even if the airbrushes are crap. All those little bits you really need for a good workflow get pricey pretty fast.

Hi, Thanks for the post.
I'd be very interested what you think of your new gear. I'll keep checking this post over the next few weeks.

Alright, got my new toys today. First things first: You get what you pay for. I expected cheap-ass chinese quality and received... well. Chinese quality, but really way better than expected. The compressor looks and feels decent and works well. Automatic start and stop work well. The compressing unit gets pretty hot, this may be something to hold an eye on. The tank is a little smallish with 3 litres. Therefore the compressor starts and stops quite often. But it works well to deliver pulsation free air. Continuos working pressure I would expect at about 3bar. For sure enough for airbrushing. Noise is ok for a cheapish compressor. The manual states 47dB, wherever and however they measured that. I am pretty sure it is more, but silent enough to work at night. The vibration damping feet work well to decouple from swinging tabletops.

The other things in the set:
The 4-way valve works well. No professional quality but gets the job done. The screws labels are wrong - who cares...
The 4-way holder is of decent quality.
The cleaning pot is LARGE, did not expect that from the pictures. Works perfectly.
The classic gravity feed airbrush is completely made of metal and of good quality considering the price. The lever was oiled. The oil hardened and needed a cleanup in my device. Apart from that everything looks ok. It even has the luxury of an end stop to limit the movement of the lever! Comes with two extra needles and nozzles in different sizes.
The suction feed external mixing airbrush is completely made from plastic and feels not great. But as far as I see the nozzle is easily finetuned. Should work great for large pieces like terrain and basecoating large kits.
Both airbrushes are not tested yet! Both come with some accessories which is useful most of the time. There are enough extra adaptors to get everything connected. The rubber hose delivered with the plastic gun is rubbish.
The set comes with two bigger hoses, though of different length I like em pretty much. They are super soft and fabric covered. I don't think these will get in the way while working.

The set I am speaking of is this one: http://www.amazon.de/gp/product/B00AAXZ86I?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00

These are my first impressions. Maybe I have to refine them when I start working with my new toy and get used to it. Hope this helps!
