Cleaning minis?

OK, a silly little question, and one i haven\'t been able to find in the forums -
Does anyone know a good method for cleaning miniatures? Mine have ended up collecting a bit of dust, as well as the usual faint grease from fingers.
I don\'t want to wreck them, but i do want them clean, and without water stains.
For the record, they are unvarnished, if that makes a difference (found varnish doesn\'t stick so well to uncleaned figures anyway).
Suggestions?

I find dull cote helps get rid of the finger prints/grease..

Also, I\'m during painting I actually touch the mini I\'ll give it a quick burst of dull cote (actually I use a product called Mr Super Clear - It\'s the Japanese version of dullcote).

in terms of dust, I use air duster cans.. I use these all the time. Store your minis in a cabinet if they\'re display pieces.

Hope this helps! :D

I was waiting for someone else to post a good suggestion or two. The air can is a good idea, but I think you\'re working with something that\'s a little bit more difficult.

Since its unvarnished, you\'re probably going to have problems trying to use soap and water to remove the greasy stuff. You might try it gently on one you might like to repaint, just in case the paint comes off.

You could try to use a very, very soft brush. You might be able to do it with a toothbrush, but I\'m thinking that\'d be too stiff. An old paintbrush might do the trick, but it\'d probably take a lot of time.

Sorry I don\'t have any better solution.

Prevention being better than cure \'n\' all that... I buy glass domes to keep my display minis in... they are expensive (£10) but keep everything off the mini. I found a guy on ebay that sells them... I\'ve had a few orders from him now, fast delivery and well packaged... none have been broken yet.

I hope this adds to any help you get in some way.

Nice one Squidders might have to get a few of them, theres also this from the articles not cleaning but prevention again,http://www.coolminiornot.com/article/aid/493. I\'d go with the old brush with a bit of soapy water on it, might take a while but it should get it done after a while :D
