Chaos War Mammoth finished

Hi there,

It's been a while, a very long while indeed. Finally I finished this beautifull model. Also made a base, an acient battlefield in a frozen swamp!

Put it today in a painting contest and was rewarded a first place :D Before you think I did a good job, I had the only entry in the Large Scale class :silly!:

But in two weeks the big final in Amsterdam I will see if there are more entry's in this scale.

But I had a lot of fun building, painting and showing my model and that's the most important.

Some photo's, but taken freehanded and in little time. Better photo's will add later.

Best regards,

Eelco

great stuff. feels cold. only thing i would change would be to maybe change the water to a dark blue to make it look deeper. love the frozen artillery etc, gives it a real sense of grandeur (as if it need more!)

Thanks for the replies.
At the moment it's a display piece, but when I have enough point painted I will use it in an army. But I am more a modeller than a player so I think it will take a while before I have enough points.
First I will start a new project, also a nice FW model.

Epic? Please explain me what you mean?

I also understand the colours said about the ice. I also had thought about mixing blue, but wanted a very cold look.
I don't change anything at the ice anymore, because it might get ruined. I also like the look at this moment, but had enough learning moments in this project for my next one.

Best regards,

Eelco

I heartily agree with the others. To paint something well is a feat in and of itself. To paint something this large well is truly epic.
