A first in two respects, one its my first chaos model ever, and was a bit of a departure from my normal painting style, so I hope you guys like it. And two its the first time I've submitted anything for discussion, so I'm actually quite nervous about what you'll say. I'd love to know how to do horns.

I'm not going to sprout excuses but its the first time we used the light tent so if anyone can spot something we can do better or differently I'd love to hear it cos it was a bit of trial and error to get it to work.

Cheers Guys, Tim.

I like it clean sharp lines excellent work, but personally I believe that you could highlight the horns a little more. Other than the affore mentioned Love it.

I'll start with the good!

The weathering onthe axes is well done I think. Though I might throw in a little of the metalic on things like the rounded edge of the thing that goes over the shaft and stuff. I like that part.

I liek the color on the model a bunch too.

Some stuff like the colors on the inside of the cape look like they could be applied differently. It looks like streaks of the GW washes, which is fine, but I think if you watered them down a little and applied them in a couple different random streaks in layers it might look a little better. To me. I think the dude named Skeeve has one in his gallery that looks awesome and has some good use of a similar effect. I think he does, anyway.

Overall a succesful mini I think, and a good piece o' Chaos to get you started. Thanks for posting!

Thanks for the feedback guys, I agree the horns need work, I just don't know what to do with them. I'm a bit disappointed with the cape, it doesn't look as good as in real life or as good as I'd hoped it would look. It was meant to be rotting flayed skin with the veins showing through but I didn't quite catch it.:confused2:

Tim; Having seen it 'real scale' I have to say that the pictures do show some areas where work could be done.
As others have said thinned washes on the horns could help knock back the strong dark tones, similarly washes and glases on the inside of the cloak could make the skin effect a little better. (But one thing to consider Flayed skin will not have any blood left in it so veins and arteries wouldn't show).
