Hi,

Below are some WIP shots of my St. Celestine. I\'m really trying to push myself on this, and am pleased with some of what I\'ve done.

The colour scheme, of blue, bone, and red, is limited by the rest of my army, but beyond that, I\'m game for any criticism and comments you\'ve got. Be as ruthless as you like, my only request being that it is constructive - I\'m looking ot imporve both the model and my skills. Thanks for any help on this.

You have got a good scheme going on there...

The blue seems electric and alive. Very impressive. The photos are a bit dark, so I will assume its more \'popping\' in person. Otherwise I think you could bring the blue up even more.

The fleshtones are good too, you have captured a neat emotion in her face.

Are you planning on using the red color along the flowers on the sword? I think that would help pull it all together. And what do you have planned for the sword itself? NMM?

Thanks.

Hi,

The sword is still a bit up in the air. I\'ve used metallics in the rest of the army, os that is an option, but the problem is the sword kind of sticks out, in terms of composition. Ideas here are welcome.

I will use the red on the flowers in teh sword, and also on the inside of the larger drapery that will hang behind her.

Pics are a tad dark ;) But looks very good on this stage - the only thing I would pick on her are the highlights on the armour - a tad too rough IMHO ;)
I would place also some white dots to add this \'shiny look\' ;)
Love her face - hope to see some closeups ;)

Fantastic work on this one; very original colour scheme, neatly executed and beautiful NMM. Her face is very expressive, imo the blonde hair and reddish face don\'t quite suit her, but that is just my personal opinion. Great work, can\'t wait to see it finished :)

Yah. The lighting system I\'m using is Daylight Mk. I.

Hmm. Yeah, I see what you mean - there are bits that pop, and others that could use some brightening. Will do.

Thanks for the kind words penguin - regarding the face / hair - wrong colour for the piece, or they don\'t work together?

update

An update.

Front: http://i80.photobucket.com/albums/j171/Fireymonkeyboy/update.jpg
Rear: http://i80.photobucket.com/albums/j171/Fireymonkeyboy/rear.jpg

Some more of the detailing has been picked out. The inner robe needs a bit of cleaning up, as do a few other things when magnified (such as teh blue highlights), but it seems to be coming along well. I\'d like to put some sort of border or freehand pattern along the bottom edge of the skirt in order to \"hem\" the bone / red transition. Any ideas?

One person has suggested using SE / NMM techniques on the sword, but with metallic paint - this will add to the impact, but tie in in with the rest of the army. Thoughts on this?

The rear of the skirt could use a pattern, etc. to break it up, but will eventually be covered by the larger cape (TBA). Is it worth doing, or should I spare myself the effort?

Any other C&C welcome and appreciated.

I think she looks good, I specially like the loin cloth going down in front, very nice. I wouldn\'t bother with freehands where they will be covered, that is just a waste of time... Although, it depends on the amount of coverage.

I don\'t think you should mess with the blue anymore, it\'s good as it is.

As for SE - NMM, I\'m not sure army wise... I\'m in doubt as well as to this. Not using metalics all the way trough would break the army\'s look, but on the other hand, Characters are ment to stand out, so using NMM on them would be ok? I don\'t know...
