Casting Minis

I have sculpted some minis and I would like to cast them in order to have \"fresh versions\" available once i paint the originals. I have no idea where to begin casting figures. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

Do you want to do it yourself? or hire someone? Do you want resin or metal?

Where are you located..it would help in knowing where to direct you..

Also, how many do you want? If you only want 15 or so, you will only need to make a master mold, no production mold. What are the sculpts made of?

casting minis

I\'m not sure as to whether I should or could do it myself. I don\'t know what the costs would be either way. It would certainly be easier to have someone else do it, but I think it may be fun, if not too much of a hassle, to do it myself. I\'m located in CA, US. Any direction would be helpful! I only want about 15 or so, I guess just for personal use. The sculpts are of plastic and epoxy (green stuff).

Master mold? Production mold? I\'m totally in dark.

Thanks!

Id contact Jeff Rodman at Fortress Figures about making you a mold. He can mold figures with plastic in them.

A mold from him will probably cost you as much as buying all the RTV and resin casting supplies and a hell of a lot easier.

Casting mini help-Cheers!

I\'m not familiar with Fortress Figures, do you have any contact information? I appreciate the help. Do you have any idea just how difficult it will be to do it myself? I was looking around online and I found a complete kit for $100. Is that too much? Again, I appreciate the help. There aren\'t too many resources out there (that I could find at least)!

Thanks again.
