Bowie: Stud or dud?

Meet Bowie: Def 4, Health 2
Right after attacking with a Bow attack card, he gets 2 extra Movement Points to use immediately.

So how does this work?

Option A:
*Bowie Attacks
*Effects applied (Two extra movement points to use immediately)
*Monster Payback
*Effects applied
*Models Die

or

Option B:
*Bowie Attacks
*Effects applied
*Monster Payback
*Effects applied
*Models Die
(Two extra movement points to use immediately)

This makes a huge difference because it means he could potentially shoot, and then immediately move out of LOS or out of range to paybacks before they hit. But on the flip side, it could be used after monsters die to move in to pick up quest tokens in now empty squares.

So how 'immediate' is the effect since it uses the words 'immediately'. opposed to 'this activation' or something else?

"Right after attacking", "use immediately".

Option A - The extra Movement Points should be used before any Payback Reactions. The Monster will only be out of your way if you manage to Overkill.

Makes him super useful for avoiding ranged payback and hiding from PVP. I assume he can shut a door with those movement points because they are points not move only? So he could shoot someone, close the door and be safe from harm.

Follow-up question (sorry to impose)-- say Bowie attacks a monster and deals enough to kill it (but not overkill it), and immediately uses his two movement points to leave close range then reenter (say to pick up an exploration token or something). Does the monster get a Guard and a Payback reaction? or just the payback reaction afterwards? I'm assuming it gets both, right?

I would assume if the immediate movement happens, any guard reactions happen immediately, and before the Payback and eventual death.

So I would avoid using bowie's movement to trigger guard reactions, and since he is a ranged fighter, that should be reasonably easy to do.

The only time it would be useful is if I am 2 spaces away, kill a quest target which will leave the square empty...

Option A:
*Bowie Attacks
*Effects applied and monster WILL be dead
*Move 1 square forward into 'close' square
*Move 1 square forward into 'SAME' square which triggers a guard reaction
*Guard reaction from dying monster
*Monster Payback from dying monster
*Effects applied
*Models Die

Bowie is alone in square with token and picks it up.

With 4 Def, and a armor loot, that could be a very valuable gambit for him. If the monster doesn't die, he can then move back to avoid payback.

I think the thing to remember for his usefulness is that if you can set him up in a good place, you attack first, get your two free movement points, then you have your actual movement phase to keep trotting around the board.
