I have only been painting for little under a year, and I am looking to progress more. Figured the only way to get better is practice and get advice from people better than me

This is the latest model I have been working on.

Good work, very good seeing you have only been painting for a year! Love the sword. Usually see the blue electric effect on a black or dark blue background - looks good on an silver / metal blade.
Some parts are a bit dark but I think that's the photo. A very well painted mini. :)

What he ^ said:)

Perhaps a touch more highlighting on the hilt and hand guard?

Personally, I'm also not sure that the wing motif on the sword benefits from the (extremely good) electric effect?

I think two very easy things would make these extremely good. You have the shading down really well.

To me you haven't highlited the Blue and Red enough on the edges.....an extreme highlight blended in on the blue, red and possibly the face isall you need.

I agree with Finn on the sword, the eagle part needs to be part of the hilt, and not the blade, but again very good electric feel.

Last thing you need to add text or scribbles on the parchment areas with dark brown, just to finish them off.

Otherwise for 1 year, excellent work.

I don't know - I like the electricity on the hilt a bit. I mean, the power would go wherever the metal is, right?
