I've been using a mixture of wet brushes and shapers to blend cured and uncured greenstuff together while fleshing out a sculpt. Do you have any prefered methods I may find helpfull?
i'm not really good in sculpting, but somebody told me to use pharmaceutical cream (nivea...) instead of water to smooth the surface. have never tried...
I have read that but I worry about getting the vasoline off of the mini once the putty has cured. I mean surely once a surface has vasoline on it and you try to add another layer of putty you are then going to run in to problems?
Soap. When the green stuff has cured just rub it with soap and rinse. Works like a charm. But if you're too lazy to wash the model after every layer of Gs (like I am for instance) it works perfectly fine to wet the tools with ordinary cooking oil or saliva. Works a lot better than water and dries up enough to not make you have to bother about cleaning unless you use too much oil.
i use just water (spit). if you want it to blend better, i would use something with the gs. i tend to use a 70/30 mix of magic sculp to gs. you could use miliput if it's easier to get hold of. blends MUCH better
Guys, used some vasoline last night and I was shocked at how much more workable the green stuff was! I have tried water and spit before but I have to say after last night I am fully converted. Freak if you haven't tried it give it a go, it appears the trick is not to use to much vasoline but just enough so you have a thin layer on your tools. I now know what I have been missing all these years .
