Granddad!
how did I do it?
Just paint on the base colors, no shading or highlighting, then "dip" it in the quick shade. I didn't actually dip it tho I brushed it on

@Cheelfy: It hasn't had any highlighting as yet, I may add some later but for now I'm just getting the box put together and painted up

Well we had a period over here when many seem to use the stuff. It's a pretty nice quick effect but everything tends to look the same and pretty drab. Works very well on certain armies though. Saw some nice tyranids. I think most people use the GW washes now for a similar but more diverse effect, not quite as quick but makes the army feel more unique.

I am afraid that the army might look a bit drab when it's done if you only use the dip but I think there is definitely room for experimenting combining this with other techniques... I haven't seen much of that.

yeah it's definitely just for getting an army on the table to game with, it's not gonna give a tournament winning army by any stretch

but I've not done any highlighting what so ever, that's likely to be the next experiment, and I dare say you could come in with the washes after the "dipping" stage

I've seen some pretty nice models painted using the dipping process. Adding highlights really makes those models.

Very good, solid model.

I should do something like that with my Space Hulk minis, it would be so much more fun to play with painted stuff!
