I'm pretty sure that it's actually a queen xenomproh tail. Back around 1990 or so they produced a board game that used scenarios based on the aliens movie. They produced a a metal miniatures of the alien queen intended for use with it.

They are small as they are 25mm at best, but there's several models including the APC. The only one I ever had was the queen piece, and I'm 95% certain the tail is fron that model. They were made by Leading Edge Miniatures and long out of print.

Here's a link to a gallery of the old minis http://www.tnthobbies.co.uk/alien1.htm

The body looks like its from warhammer daemons (blood letters of khorne)

A good source for tails may be to pick up some of the aliens edition horror clicks minatures, but then again they are great to use as is, unless you are trying to use GW parts specifically.

I think it's rather from the old metal hormagaunt model (couldn't find a decent pic though :p). If you compare the looked-for tail and the Alien Queen's tail pointed out by Paulson, there are differences in the thickness of the spinal elements and the tip.

But ultimately, as Paulson adviced, Horror Click Minatures would work great, or else, get some wire and modelling putty and make your own ;).

Well I have some of the old leading edge minis, the Alien warriors and they are just not that detailed and a bit to small to compare to the more modern 28mm marine figs I want to pair them with. So I have purchase a bunch of stuff to do conversions of the GW Nids into Xenomorphs, (There is some good stuff at Chapterhousestudios.com) but I need to find some tails. Chapterhouse is making some lash-whips which are due out later this month but they dont look as good as the one pictured. I am having such a hard time finding a fitting bit to become a tail.
