Heya folks... Been a while since I have been here and I finally found time to start really painting... The army is a 2000 point Doom-bull list that runs limited minotaurs. Gonna be seeing everything from chariots to bestigors in this army, some old some new and some sculpting some conversion hopefully.

Anyways heres the color scheme... need opinions...

Any thoughts on another color other than yellow for the loin cloth? for those that have strips I plan to use blue and yellow I might be tempted to try taking a blue layering up to a yellow... I found the yellow was a real pain to apply because the color doesn\'t cover worth a damn... But I already had one suggestion to change it... green was the suggestion. So thats it, hit me with your thoughts...

comments on skin tone? and the effect of the striped color highlights?
comments on weapon metal effect?
comments on base?
comments on anything else that comes to mind?

skintone- fine
base - excellent
weapon - I\'d go with gunmetal and inking
fur - may need another highlight
loincloth- I suggest sand, brown or green but yellow is too striking a color for beastmen.
blacklinig- too thick, stands out too much.
ink wash- simple but very effective method

just some ideas and constructive crits.

I would suggest a dark purple or green for the loincloth.

For the metal weapons, I\'m not liking the striped pattern on his sword. I assume you\'re trying to make it look a little worn? I would actually use a rust color for the stripes instead.

Also his claw/fingernails are way too white. I would paint them in bleached bone and shade with some darker yellows/browns, the white on there now looks too fake.

Same goes for the horns and hoof I would assume? I might go back and look at that.

For the metal it was supposed to be damascus steel, but I will probably go back and just hit it with chain-mail then highlight with striking bits with mithril. Maybe scroll some blood red markings on the weapons.

are you suggesting an ink wash? I used a bit of yellow ink at the very end watered down with some wash-up soap and glue mixed in, but other than that, didn\'t use much ink-wise. In the past I used it in-between layering but felt I wanted this to be more vibrant on the skin.

As far as the fur, another high-light more? there isn\'t much more to go above space-wolves grey... other than a white mixed in with the grey and added as a final highlight of dry brushing...

I will be posting pictures of the beast-herd as I update and finish them, but I thought I would post this for complete-ness sake and pictures of my converted wolfen of the lunar-chaos pack. These will count as minotaurs of tzeentch.
