Beastman Or Woodelf?

Im thinking of doing a smaller single mini for the upcoming GW contest as well(to keep me busy inbetween stages of the Nurgley Diorama)
The base is a slice of wood(has bark on the sides) about 10\"x7\".
I want a foresty/tundra(chaos wastes? edge of the Loren forest during the winter?) dusted with snow
A small crude wooden fence along one of the sides and several skulls/stones strewn about.

Im not sure what model to do for it though
Either a Woodelf Mage on Warhawk or Beastman Lord/Shaman.
Well which should it be?
I have pondered both possibilities for the past several days I need input!:D

The scene you despcibe sounds rather idyllic, almost Christmas-card-y (uh, except for the skulls strewn around:)) Therefore, my vote would be to go with the Beastman in some twisted variation on Bambi :D

Sick? What do mean???
Why, you say \"psychopath\" like its a BAD thing:eek::innocent:

I\'ll second that, beastmen are much more interesting

Pansy elves

Sorry guys I originally meant this to be a poll but for whatever reason it didnt get posted as such.

Dont be getting all down on the elf folk
I happen to like them! :p

Anywho, guess its gonna be a beasty(probably better that way since the whole christmasy scene + an elf... well ya know)

Anymore ideas?

How dare you !!!! :flame:
civilized wood elfs will take on your unorganized beastmen anyday. Grrrrrr
But anyway, I would love to say would elf for your diorama, but I feel that a beastmen will be better. Plus you\'ll get bonus point for using the latest GW minis. :D

Well, I just lurve Elves.....so ner :p But the new beastmen are very cool. So you can take my vote either way and use it to swing the vote whichever way you prefer :D

I would, in my not-quite-a-judge-or-nothin way, would rather see a Wood Elf diorama. However, much like Frenchkid, I\'d not suggest doing it, I\'d think you\'d have a much better chance at placing/winning/recieving an honorable mention if you use a model GW would like to be promoting at the present time. So I\'d say go Beastman. I can\'t remember the last time I\'ve seen anything win that wasn\'t either one of the holy trinity (SM, Chaos, Eldar) or one of the newer releases.

It really depends why you\'re doing it. Since you don\'t have the whole scene all finalized in your head I assumed you\'re doing it more to compete than because you got the artistic urge or heard voices telling you to \"show gods beauty through your artwork\".

take a swing at it, C\'mon, do it!!

I think Tuubje\'s making a \"special\" offer. I hope you consider long and hard before making a decision. :D

Actually I was thinking the same cept!
Several gors/ungors armed with hooked chains dragging a WarHawk(War Eagle) to the ground,
with a minotaur approaching with an axe ready to deal the killing blow!
Oh and the elf would be sprawled out bleeding next to one of the trees.
Sound good?

hey! i like that idea a lot. What would you use for snow? would you make the minis detacheable as seperate playable minis? What are the rules for the contest?

Wow, somebody doesn\'t like elves...:D.....But hey, as a dwarf player myself, I can sympathize. As a concession to my more bloodthirsty/teenager side, I have a scenery piece including an elf being hurled off a cliff ;)......Anyways, I like your idea, and the beastman as the focal point would work great, but with all the additions, the diorama might get a little crowded.

I dont think it would if he just kept the focus on the main action. I too must admit to a bit of an elf hating sentiment, they\'re just so bloody stuck up!

Sounds complicated. Cool, but complicated. I hope you have plenty of time.

Rules?... um..... uh.... yea...um..*runs off*

*Slowly meanders back*
No damn clue!

Yea, It seems I have overcomplicated the diorama(I do it often).
My feelings are if your gonna do it then do it all the way!

But i really dont have all that much time to devote purely to this bad boy!
Im going to Michaels later to get a larger wood base popsicle sticks and a few other goodies!

So how should i go about dulling down this set up? Im gonna drop the elf for sure but im not sure what else....
