Hi,

Works of the Wicked is proudly presenting the new miniature game Battlespirit. Battlespirit is a fast paced, table top miniature game. Set in a science fiction universe, the game system will allow players to battle with fleets of ships. Its innovative gameplay is easy to understand and allows small and large battles.

Currently there are two factions, Emanoid and Zolar.

An example of an Emanoid drone, a 35mm scale model.

And an example of a Zolar destroyer, a 55mm scale model.

More detail on the minis. Access hatches, armour plates, engines etc.
The bases look like 25mm round and they have more detail than the minis.

This. You are basically trying to set up an alternative to Battlefleet Gothic (maybe not, but it seems that way, IMO) Here is what you will be competing against model wise:

For your models to get people excited about them, the devil is in the details. As Trevor said, right now the bases are more detailed than the minis.

More straight edges and flat surfaces would be my suggestion. If you look at the middle image Bloodhowl has posted, it's looks like the exhaust tubes have been done from plastic tube originally - hence their uniformity. Cassar does large scale miniatures by roughly shaping in milliput and then sanding/grinding to give him a really good finish, this technique really lends itself to armoured surfaces. Equally mock the basic shape up using plasti-card and then do the curves in putty :)

Good luck!
