backdrops

I was wondering what people reccomend using as a backdrop/floor for mini photography.

Right now I am using ether pure white printer paper, or a nearly pure black pillowcase.

What I would like to find is a more neutral backdrop, maybe a grey or blue that is smooth. As personally I prefer the smoothness of the paper to the folds of the cloth. Also I would like it to fit into my light cube.

Any suggestions?

Thanks

Print one! I\'d use a graduated one personally. Mid blue down to white works well.

Or just do it in Photoshop afterwards ;)

Yes and make it a more greyish blue then you\'d expect. :) It can be an idea to have one neutral grey gradient for certain shots and one a bit darker for moody pieces as well. A simple gradient can easily be made in GIMP or photoshop. Go for the highest settings on printer or the result will be dotted. Photographed it can look like artefacts from compressing the image too mush so it is not very nice. I\'d also suggest a slightly thicker paper then usual, but not too thick, it should curve easily.
