Hey folks! Sorry if this has been covered but I cannot find anything about the following:
when an attachment is killed by an 'assassin' ability (like Qarl's, Vargo's or Jaime's for example), does the attachment position on the tray get filled with a miniature from the rearmost rank (or the rightmost position if only one rank remains) or does the 'hole' remain as is?
My instinctive response would be to fill that hole as described above but my latest opponent was the opinion the vacant position would remain; neither of us have found any clarification either in the rulebook or in the 2021 FAQs. I'm afraid old age impairs my reading ability but two people not finding anything becomes a greater concern.
I'm quite keen on getting an official stance on that since I'm playing Greyjoys and, as players now know it, rely heavily on rank destruction to improve units: such a miniature shift would indeed sometimes cause a rank to be fully depleted if filling the attachment position is necessary.
Thanks for any light you may shed, and for providing the source for your take(s) on how to do.
Edit: looks like previous iterations of cards that had the Expert Duelist ability had the text clarifying all this. I guess it falls under common sense to keep the same method of shifting minis?
Example of Loras Tyrell:
