Your Description of Flash is wrong, what you are describing are Ventings, Flash is a very thin film of metal/plastic that usualy forms where the two sides of the mould dont quite touch, these are usualy found around legs and arms but can be anywhere on the model. Basicaly Flash is an extention of mould lines.
Other than that htis is a tried and tested formula for model cleaning and assembly.
