I note the surf is up.

Remember a guy on Anglesey near Holyhead trying to rent our surf gear in near horizontal rain. I use him as an example of optimism.

I was there last year and it were greeet. Beautiful little corner of the world. Going down in October or November if all goes well, staying in a farmhouse/hostel affair. Smashing.

We\'re staying in a tent on the cliffs near Fishguard. We\'re expecting bad weather. In fact my parents decided we should go a day late because the weather looked too bad.

Cracking photos! Looks a great place.

I\'m thinking of going to Wales next week... probably to Abersoch or Pwllheli (sp?). I just want to see what the weather\'s doing first though, as I\'ll be camping and boating. Is this a good choice Rev??? :D

The Cadian dude hit the spot with Solva. Lovely place. Abersoch is alright but a bit more touristy. I suggest Newport, Pembs. A cute little village in striking distance of St David\'s, Solva, Tenby (everyone\'s favourite little fishing town) and even Aberystwyth and Cardiganshire. Bloody hell, even Abersoch and Pwllheli are not too far away up the coast road.

But perhaps with Pwllheli you can look at going over to Ynys Enlli (Bardsey Island) and see the mad monks. Not been meself yet :(

I take it you want beaches though, aye?

It\'s more boating than beaches that I\'m interested in to be honest. Bardsey Island is definitely on the list of things to see! I was just looking at Black Rock Sands near Porthmadog too. All of these are a relatively short drive from Derbyshire... I think Pembroke would add another 100 miles and as it\'s a short break I just want to get there as soon as poss and get in the water, so to speak :D

Also, if the weather is pants for boats/beach etc... we can always go for a yomp around Tryfan or Siabod or similar!

Can\'t wait to be honest!

We went to Cornwall a few weeks ago and I\'m eager to see how Wales compares lol (not been to Wales for ages :( )

@ beezlebrook it took our family 9 hours to come back but we had variou stops (hay-on-wye) and a few service stations. Its quick to get to wales but takes an age to get to the cost as there are no motorways

(camarthen no no)-big queues
