Are Coat d\'arms paints any good?

Having searched the forum I can\'t see a thread about this, which I thought was a bit odd, but anyway...

With GW threating another price which would see the price of paints go up to £2 a pot i\'ve decided to use some other paints, and one of the different brands recommened is Coat d\'arms so i was wondering if anyone has used these and what they think of them?

I know they are essentially GW paints from back when they came in white pots so do they still hold their own against GW own line and the old favorites (vallejo)

From what I\'ve read in the past, Coat\' D\'Arms paints are great. By memory Jennifer Haley mentions them on her website. Therefore they must be good.

Why not buy a couple of pots and give \'em a go.;)

I posted this on planetFigure before but I might as well include it here instead of just a link so it\'s easier to find. There are some comparative reviews of Coat d\'Arms on a few mini sites, consistency seems to be a problem:

A colour chart if you need it:

I bought some of the new Rackham paints which I beleive are made by Coat\'d Arms. Unfortunatly they are very poor. Like poster paint in consitancy, might be ok for doing terrain pieces but not for minis.

I bought some skin tones and bone by Cd\'A three years ago and I love them. Great flow and pigments. They are still in great shape too.

IIRC the old GW range (the round pots with fliptop white lids) was also produced by Cd\'A. Probably why most of the old GW pots I have are still in great shape, paintwise :)

I still have many pots of paints from the early Citadel era. Not quite Coat D\'arms, but still the same formula.

The paints are still good (even after repeated freezing).

Very good performing paints, IMHO.
