Saw the new(ish) Mel Gibson movie and wanted to give y\'all a heads up - it is EXTREMELY violent and graphic! If you like that kind of thing, there you go.

That aside, the costumes, makeup and sets were amazing; I can\'t believe how so many actors got that quality individual treatment. Very inspiring for my mini painting.

Took one look at the trailer and thought, S*d that. Couldn\'t be ar**d.

Over the last few years Gibson\'s gone downhill in my estimation.

I still think his best movie was \"Attack Force Z\" followed by \"Gallipoli\"...

okay, I\'m a sucker for \"Braveheart\".

I was really looking forward to seeing it after seeing adverts and stuff, I\'m really interested in ancient South American culture. Then it has to be an 18 and I have to wait 5 years to see it :(

Well not really Bill, you could download it now, or watch it when it comes out on DVD in about four months, or get snuck into the cinema by an older, less responsible friend/relative.

Everything I\'ve heard about it suggests it is a very basic action chase movie with some historical visuals and a shit load of violence thrown in, so it\'s not one I\'ll be doing at the cinema. Not when there is The Last King of Scotland, Babel and Blood Diamond demanding my cash anyhow.

He turned 51. He\'s 3 days older than me.

I think the last good movies he did were Payback & Ransom. (and even then in Ransom, Gary Sinise was the better actor and stronger role.)

I have to go with DragonsReach on this one, i couldn\'t be ar**d to see it. Then again this flick came on the hills of The Fountain. Hugh jackman did an amazingly steller acting job in it but good lord, the writer and director should have picked one movie to go with instead of trying to mix three similer movies into one movie and doign a rather poor job of it.

Mr Aranofsky doesn\'t write or direct terribly obvious or always easy to interpret movies though, and that\'s what makes his stuff so appealing to me. It\'s the three stories that make The Fountain intriguing, rather than one tale stating things more obviously.

For me it is really only one story anyway, and if you haven\'t seen it it\'s probably best not to read on because here is my interpretation.

It\'s set in the present and about Izzi dying, and Tom not spending time with her in her last days, but instead obsessing about finding a cure, and missing out on spending those last days with her.

The bit in the past is not a reality to me, it\'s a representation of Izzi\'s book, and what she thinks of her man. The bit in the future is Tommy\'s continuation of that book, but from the mind of a scientist rather than a romantic, and gives something of an insight into his feelings of loss and how he has realised his quest for a cure was futile, and he should have spent the time with Izzi.

But that\'s just what I think of it, there are lots of other equally valid responses and reactions, and I think it would be totally unreasonable to say that your take is wrong. I just strongly disagree with it!

I hear that Gibson is making a film about Boudica in which she isnt the daughter of a tribal chieftain who marries Prasutagus, King of the Iceni, then rebels against Roman occupation, but is instead a dirtpoor peasant. He\'ll probably replace the Romans with the English...

I\'m personally waiting for his upcoming \"Sugar Tits 2: The Jooooos Did It!\". I\'ve read rave reviews.
