Anyone else use these for display bases?

Maybe everyone knows and uses these but I havent seen them yet :)

I think they make great display bases, and they protect your mini\'s at the same time with the dome.

I seem to remember my ex wife had something that looked like this....But it very rarely saw the light (or dark) of day...:D

I wouldnt know how to call them. But one of my many other hobby\'s is collecting fossils and they use these to put like dinosaur teeth in and other little fossils. They come in a range of sizes.

she must have been one lopsided lass unless the big one was in the middle......! lol

as for what they are...... beats me. i thinnk you can find something like that in craft stores near christmas for do it yourself snow globe\'rs. hmmmm, i wouldnt mind some for my fav minis maybe. i know they make little square ones that are for protecting minis. forget where that link was..... they were black bases and had square clear tops.

i forget where i got it but as a teen 1st collecting minis i got some cheap plastic clear cases with black plastic bottoms and the clear plastic edges slipped intot he sides of the base and i think they were meant to hold minis singly, i just cant remember where i got em. they had two sizes, one for reg minis and one for ogre sizes roughly.

These look like display domes - used for all sorts of things really. I don\'t like the numpty white plastic bases, but I guess that could be sorted out easily enough.

You kinda see large ones of these in museums with dead animals and birds stuffed in that \'oh so attractive\' way.... personally I like \'em alive and au naturel

Although I was a bit unsure about the papier mache hollow gourd in the first link, I have now decided that my life will be incomplete without one...

I have a few of the rectangle ones, (in DAANs link) but I really like the look of the bubble ones.

You know, I like that snotling more and more everytime I see it!

Here is a link on a tutorial for making a paper mache globe, maybe you can use it to make yourself a gourd... :D

I think the cases you mean are normally sold with dice. When I painted up a HarryPotter lookalike as a gift for a good friend some time ago I used such a case http://www.coolminiornot.com/index.php?id=11179&c=All&m=All&nm=none

I think I have to check out the ones with the round domes. They look good :)
