So i wanna do a conversion of this orc
bigorc.jpg

But i\'m having trouble finding a body with a hunched over thoracic curve?!? And i\'m not good enough yet to scratch buld it. Anyone have any ideas of a mini that would work. He almost looks more like a hulking wherewolf than an orc. GW minis are preferred but i\'m open to anything I can get ahold of here in the US.

Also it will be a gaming mini which will have to rank up so ogre size is probably too big.

Hmmm, I see a lot of views but no comments. At least I feel better with my mini knowledge if no one else can think of a mini to use. :shrugs:

I think the dire troll would be a good base. It will require a lot of work, but it is a nice and clean base for sculpting hair onto, converting, etc.

I would suggest taking a look at the following three figures:

Black Orc Big Boss

&

Gorbad Ironclaw

&

Grimgor Ironhide

With these figures you could mix and match different pieces. Though you may have to do some sculpting. ;)

I forgot to mention that they are all by GW if you are wondering...

Maybe you can find something from Rackhams Orc line as well.. the new ones are pretty hunchback.. another style alltogether though I think.

What he said. The Dire Troll is in more or less the exact pose you want.

I stand humbled!

Thanks Averlorn, those are all great ideas. The Dire Troll is awesome, but how big is it? It looks like the size of a GW ogre, is that right?

Quadrille, the Varghar mini rocks hard.

Now it\'s a tough choice of which to use...

Kratos, the problem with GW orcs is that they arent really hunched over, they all seem to have an exaterated curve in the lower back, which kills the hulking hunchback look i\'m going for. Thanks for the idea though.

Isn\'t there a GW Balrog that\'s sort of the right size and shape? I seem to rfemember one painted up in the last White Dwarf the might help. Then again it might have been in the last privateer press. not sure.

I think it must be pp, though of course the US and UK WDs are different. Mind you, the only current Balrog that GW does, as far as I know, is much too big to be an orc.
