Well, after having a depressing couple of days, the events of the past half hour topped it. I finally got myself to sit down and paint, and was all excited to get back to work when fate struck.

I opened my pot of chaos black, and it exploded all over my hands, favorite shirt, pants, chair, floor, and mini. I ran to the bathroom to clean up, but I got black paint everywhere. the shirt is now ruined, and my pants stained. The mini got a coat of black on an area I was really pleased with, and my windsor and newton brush is in emergency rehabilitation.

I am now properly pissed! :flame::mad::flame:

Ok, needed to vent that...

The amount of paint that I,ve got on the floor is crazy. A while ago I had just bought some new trouser (do I need to say more) and kazaaam everywhere. I find the best solutin is to never buy new cloths. Thats bad news that you got it on your mini.

I almost had an incident like that the other day. I started shaking my bottle of GW purple ink, and apparantly I had allowed a gob to dry around the threading for the cap, so it wasn\'t truly sealed - purple ink starts coming out all over. Luckily, it just got on me and not on the figure I have already spent a week on just to get to the halfway point on him. Still, very annoying!

Had the exact same thing happen to me. If it cheers you up appart from the shirt I got everything back in mint condition and the mini got me my best CMON score yet :p So there is still hop.
I wonder how you managed that with a GW pot though, I did it with a vallejo black which was clustered with dried paint, I pressed a bit hard.. and bam.

It was the old style with the screw on cap, not the flip-top, so it just wasn\'t sealed properly due to buildup on the threading. Not really sure how it got there either, I usually pour from the pot into a mixing palette but I wipe off the oveflow - must have forgotten the last time I used it I guess :(

This may sound crazy, but if you use some gasoline you can get those stains out. It\'s happened to me a number of times.

Back in college I spilled paint all over my carpet in the dorm. I figured my deposit was gone at that point, until someone told me about using gas/turpentine to get it out. Well that stuff SMELLS, they nearly evacuated the building due to a gas leak until I admitted. People were unhappy...

However the paint did come out!

Now, that\'s worth a try. Maybe I could get the purple stain out of my favorite khakis using that.

I think that spilling paint has happened to most of us over time, only the other day I spilt my pot of Vermin Brown but lukily it was contained within the pallet I use and missed the mini completely.
It was worse when we used to use enamels and that went over as you had to react straight away to save anything it had spilt on.

An open pot of GW blue ink in one hand, a tray with some just completed miniatures in the other hand - why that combination, I just don\'t know, but it happened. And then... a sneeze. Blue ink all over the work area, luckily nowhere else, and seven painted miniatures damaged as they hit the floor.

Being prone to a good sneeze now and then, I learnt pretty fast. I wished it had been someone else\'s fault, truly I did.

Removal trick

An old housepainter showed me a trick for getting paint out of carpet - let it dry then gently sandpaper the carpet.

Works best when paints are thick and dont sink in. Wouldnt help with inks I suspect.

Hehe, I once dropped a nearly finished blood bowl wood elf straight in a pot of sunburst yellow! I picked it up and dipped it in the water bowl, and almost all of the yellow paint came off, but it still has a yellow tone to it.

Maaan, sorry to hear James :(
Guess everyone has their bad days.. but yours are rather.. shitty.:]
I think ou should maybe have a go with the gasoline ?

Anyway..sorry to hear, but you just keep on painting and not wear your sunday best.

I was painting a mini with a brown paint and somehow I got a blob of the paint to land right on top of my TAU Devilfish Tank Commander. The worst part of it is was that he was all done, and I did not notice that I had done that for several day\'s. I just feel lucky that it only landed on him and the inside of his cockpit, and now where else.

it\'s got to the stage where i\'m not allowed to paint in the house. when i lived at home, i had to work in the attic (man, that got HOT in the summer!). the girls i live with now make me paint in the garage (another reason why i dont paint so often) because in our last house i accidentally knoked over a tub of textured black paint (never got that out but still got the bond back from my landlady!).

as for clothes, after spilling little bits on a couple of nice jeans, i kept two pairs and two tops for painting in. they are absolutely covered. if i manage to get my bloody camera working, i\'ll post a pic

spilt paint

Man, i was just painting and spilled my bottles all over:mad: Luckily, I use Vallejolol. Although, I have done that with Liquitex. It seems that you get to that point with a lid that you know it is going to cause a mess but you think that you can handle it and WHAMO paint everywhere:eek:
