Hi there!

I'm quite new to this site and to miniature painting as well and just wanted to say hi. As soon as I can get my hands on a decent camera I will share some pictures of the first four minis I've painted! I'm looking forward to constructive criticism and helpful pointers!

See you around!

Welcome to the forum!

Don't worry too much about a decent camera, providing the pic is clear enough. Quite a few work in progress shots are taken on phones :)

Hi,

welcome to the forums.

One question: which part of Germany are you from? (I'm currently near to Frankfurt, that's why I ask)

not to mention, that most of those are better, than my best taken with a camera :D

try your phone, most have good cameras these days and my phone can take better pics than my old fuji camera!! And it was a good camera in its day. Just make sure your lighting is even and as natural as possible. or try taking the picture in total darkness with 2 or three lamps at angles to eliminate shadows. WIP dont need to be perfect but it helps if we can see the details as natural as possible. its hard taking good pics sometimes that reflect mini close to life.

I will. Though I tried before and the lack of a decent Macro mode was a problem. Maybe the lighting will improve things. We'll see!

Okay, I put up a pic of my first miniature here: http://www.coolminiornot.com/339113

I started painting to make nice looking BBEG for my Pathfinder RPG campaign. The run-of-the-mill baddies are represented by cardboard pawns but I want to give the real threats some extra dramatic effect. For that purpose, I am very happy with my first result and hope to improve with every miniature! Next one will follow soon, I hope!
