All wolves a bad idea?

I love the idea of an all wolf army but I've heard they arent very good by themselves. Is this true? Do you need vampires to be competitive?

I need the utility of all three infantry and leaders to make the army work. Plus, your morale is going to low with all rank 2s.

If you already have the models and a regular opponent I'd try it for sure. The few times I've run them (using a friend's models) I really enjoyed what the vampires bring to the table. I'm not an expert but it's my personal preference.

Vampires are nasty against Shael Han. The can leap over legionnaires and use 2 dice with precision yo kill Wraths pretty easy. Scourge Hounds are great too. Longer leap and they hit Lotus Warriors easier.

It depends on your playstyle. I have done all wolves, to have it work well, but they do like having some vampires in there for flexability. I have yet to try using the ravenscars.

I have played against all wolves three times and all three were an uphill battle. The first two I barely won. The third time I was absolutely destroyed! The game started with me having 10 morale and him having 7. He got me down to three morale before he lost even one morale. The next turn he won. Its the first game I've lost since I started playing.

Holy crap - with my all wolves it has been somewhat the opposite. If you don't mind me asking what was he using as a force - what was his list?
