After a couple of game tests and looking at the Pelegarth...

Hello...

in looking at the Pelegarth special ability to push models away ala the Spartans I think it seems strange to me that in overall effectiveness it will work best in games when they are fighting themselves.... Only two Hadross models have any blocks on their defensive tracks, only the more elite models in the Shael Han have them and a couple of Teknes regular infantry and character... I have not studied any of the other special abilities as much but I found this curious...

testing wise I found the game to play relatively fast and if your not careful you can get stuck with models that can't act against a more canny opponent...

I think you've misunderstood the rule. It's a reaction. This means it triggers off your opponent rolling a block on your pelegarth's defence chart.

What Teleotogica said. It applies when an opponent attacks the Pelegarth and rolls a block. This is useful against enemies like the Goritsi Shield Breaker who's howl triggers at the start of his next turn or other effect that trigger at the start of the Pelegarth's activation. It isn't always useful though, so note that as the special rule says 'may' you might not always want to trigger it, since the Pelegarth gain bonuses from the Howl when they start the combined activation in combat.
