Afrika Korps, need help with correct uniform colours.

Hi all,

Santa brought me a box of 1-72 revell Sd. Kfz.11, pak 40 and Afrika Korps.

I need some advice on what colours to best use for the uniforms.

I have a full set of GW and VMC paints, if you have an idea what would work best, please post here :)

Not trying to be a smart ass, but DAK uniforms had a wide range of varience - in part because they came from German, Italian, local, and Brit sources.

I\'d say find a good shot of Brit Khaki and match that and then go a couple of degrees to either side.

Roger that. In addition you have sun fading, wash fading, dust, general grime and wear and tear.

But also this is 1/72 scale - because of \'scale colour\' you can\'t just paint an exact match to a reference and expect it to look right; it\'s generally considered that you have to go lighter the smaller the scale (aircraft and armour modellers do this all the time).

Then with highlighting and shading it changes the entire appearance of a colour, depending on much this is done and the colours used.
