a year\'s worth of Mini-A-Week minis

Well, I\'ve managed to accomplish my goal -- I\'ve sculpted or painted one miniature a week for a full year. I\'ve seen lots of progress in my work, but I\'ve still got a long way to go.

Folks are still welcome to join in. I\'m going to fire up another year\'s project in a week or two, and there aren\'t any Mini-A-Week police to enforce your decision to join. ;)

Meanwhile, comments are always welcome. My last miniature is my Cthulhubot sculpt, painted in a scheme that\'s rather uncharacteristic of my style. . . .

nice!

I like the ice elemental very much !
But I have to say it fronts to masochism to do finish every week a mini ! It can become very fast to something normal and the painting and modelling standart could decline because of having no time.
But all together a nice project page with a lot of nice ideas.

thanks!

You\'re quite right, both about the occasional feeling of oppression and the too-short time limit. :) I paint fairly quickly, though (too quickly, usually) and the time limit meant that I actually finished off projects I might abandon otherwise.

I was fortunate enough to have lots of free time, too. :) In the end, I think it improved both my painting and my sculpting quite a bit.

You\'re indeed very persistent and discipline, jppatton1!!

For me, I only paint at my whim and fancy.:D

Thats not a bad idea, putting time limits on minis. I might have to steal your idea and adjust it a little bit...lets see...

a mini every 2 weeks? nope, too rushed...

a mini every month? YEAH. that sounds good to me!

Have fun!

Tried it...

A quick peek at my gallery will show I only made it to week 10... with a number of weeks where I didn\'t get anything done. The ones I did get finished each took a week (in one case, 2 weeks for a matched pair), so that\'s something :) Unfortunately, a combination of personal life, other hobbies (it\'s *great* rock-climbing weather here now) and a general summer slackness have sidelined me for now... I\'ll be lucky to get my Amazon done by the contest deadline

/me has another creamsicle and ponders a trip to the beer store...

of hamsters and discipline

What pushed me into doing it was realizing I was wasting a lot of time and not getting much better. ;) Mmm. . . beer store. . . .

I was glad to have the company, even if just for a while. :)

And as far as the hamster goes, dig around a bit at Fortress Figures:

Here\'s the link to get one of your own. . . hope it works. . . .

not bad ;)

Not bad at all. :) Dave Kelly is still plugging away as well. I think he\'s in about the same situation, but is viewing it as being behind. :)
