Can't say about a club in new york but there are several painters there. I'm lucky, My Tulsa club gets together all the time for paint sessions. They just opened their re-vamped website that is open to all to join. we plan to have a lot of tutorials and feedback areas to help us painters improve. If you don't find a club you can join ours virtually, we'd love to have you and give some feedback.

Woouaaah lucky guys, I wish to have one here... In France so many exist, but here in China it is almost non-existent. There are painters but you rarely gather to discuss about painting.

There are a number of NYC painters who do have an active gathering, one of whom used to be quite active on the forums.
Took a bit of finding but his username is SKEEVE

Hopefully he's still dipping his brush.

Yes, he is still dipping his brush, but not nearly as often as he would want to :).
There is still a group of painters gathering from time to time at our local GW store, although I haven't been there for some time. Besides this there is Long Island Historic Miniature Society (http://www.longislandmodelsoldiers.com/) that used to have regulat meetings. THey are not in NYC proper but pretty close by car or train
