a question on pricing for sculpting commisions

hi guys
as ive been asked about this several times recently, what is the average commision/sales price for minis?
i need to know the average prices people would charge from human scale up to dragon scale to give me an estimate...with or without rights for reproduction.

thanks :)

A few months back, I was looking for a sculptor for a mini for my wife, and was
given several prices ranging from $200 up to $500 for a human-sized 32mm scale
human.
Based on the portfolios I was shown, the prices were fairly respectable, and these
were given for a \'one of a kind, non-production\' miniature.
I never did hire anyone for the job, though. I ran into a financial brick wall
before I could get to it.

I have someone doing a mini for me of this drawing my son made. He\'s charging me $400 for it and personally I think it\'s a bargain.

Yah. He\'s got some real talent. Wants to be an artist (paid for it) some day. Also wants to make movie monsters. Chip off the old block! :D

@Liz - Remind me to talk to my best mate next door - he\'s studying CGI at university - maybe I can put him in touch, or at the very least give him some links

My cousin does (something involving special effects) for movies. I think he did some work on King Kong. Not sure don\'t really speak to that side but i will see if my dad has any more info (his brother\'s son).

@ Lizcam - my wife absolutely loves sketch/pencil art and if she saw that she would most definately buy it (so would I).
