A question on Fimo and Green Stuff

Hello all, I\'ve just started sculpting my own miniatures and terrain, and I\'ve been using different materials in order to create my miniatures. So far I\'ve learned a fair bit about Fimo, Green Stuff, Brown Stuff, and Miliput. However, I\'ve heard that one can obtain interesting results when mixing Fimo and Green Stuff, and was curious to how the properties of the matierals interacted when mixed together.

I have a feeling this has already been addressed before, but I wasn\'t quite sure what to search for- I tried phrases such as \"Fimo and Green Stuff\" and found nothing. So if someone would tell me about mixing these two together, and the \"basic\" (or most common, I suppose) proportions when mixing these two together, I\'d be grateful.

Thanks,
RogueGladiator

I know I discussed it on some sites like 1listsculpting but am not sure if it was ever discussed here. Anyway, the mix becomes somewhat softer than GS and gets a texture that\'s easier for drapery and stuff. The curing time also lengthens. After the GS cures the material is hard. But do keep in mind that the polymer clay has not actually cured. Werner Klocke (who introduced this technique to me) told me he baked the figures afterwards to harden the Fimo part too.

Thanks for the response minimaker- would you have any suggestion for proportions (I guess either Green stuff to fimo or Kneadatite yellow to kneadatite blue to fimo, in case the GS proportions are odd)?

Don\'t know in the UK.
Looking for the names should help but sometimes things are named differently.
Cernit is another modeling clay similar to Fimo if that helps.

The mixture I use tends to be something like 70/30 or 60/40 - GS/Fimo.

I use an even amount of yellow/blue in my GS.

I\'ve only used the mixture on several figures so far. I find it easier to sculpt than normal GS.

I don\'t plan on casting any of the pieces i\'m currently working on... so I haven\'t baked the pieces to cure the Fimo. They still feel just as solid as a fully cured GS sculpt though.

Using the GS/Fimo mix doubled the worktime of the putty. Now I can sculpt the stuff for up to 4hrs. :D

Fimo:
try the local hobbystore. Do note that there are different qualities and that this can even be dependent on colour. Some colours used for sculpting: Fimo Classic skin colour and Fimo soft transparent. Of course, if it\'s for mixing in with GS you can be less critical.
