a future question.

Hi All,

I have a quick question for everyone that uses future floor wax.

What with Vallejo paints being as fragile as they are, can I use straight future for a varnish gloss coat without it lifting the VMC up underneith?

Only for protection while I\'m painting, I like to put it on between sections that I\'ve finished. I find that if I handle my mini by itself and not on a holder I can get better detail work.

I dull it down afterwords with testors dullcoat or krylon matte.

I usually use Ardcoat brush on but I\'ve got such a big bottle of future, for using in washes diluted. I figure that it should make a good brush on sealer because it is meant to be walked on and hold up so it\'s got to be strong.

Future isn\'t all that tough, a gloss vanish like GW\'s \'Ardcoat would be far better. However, if you still want to use Future, make sure that the one you get doesn\'t have ammonia in it. On floors, the ammonia is used to strip the previous layer of future off. Now, while it won\'t strip your paint job, ammonia can cause the different areas of paint to bleed.

Thanks for the responses guys,

One of the reasons I asked about it was that I read about online how scale modellers use it as a gloss varnish in their work.

Given your advice however I will probably start using Vallejo brush on gloss, of which I have lots in my business stock.

Thanks again
