40K Ork Warboss

Here\'s some photos of an Ork Warboss I painted in March. Please excuse the fuzziness of the rear shot, I\'m just learning my way around this camera...

(EDIT) Improved photos, replaced originals.

Comment: I really like having a couple of different varnishes (gloss / matte etc). Dulling down the skin after the initial gloss coat made a nice difference.

Comment: This model was painted in VGC apart from the base which was done in Citadel Camo Green. I used some Windsor and Newton inks on the gun to make it look greasy, mostly black but a bit of peat brown.

Comment: Base is just Hornby autumn blended turf flock and some quartz gravel.

Looks pretty cool mate :)

try pushing the shading and highlighting a little further, it will aid the contrast.
aye and kill the shine

Cheers fellas. Thanks for the advice!

Actually I think the shine is a reflection from the light, the model skin / shirt stuff is quite matte in reality. But yeah, shiny in not something you think of in an ork.
