Hey there folks!

So I've been painting for a few months now and am trying my hand at Broga from McVey. I will be the 1st to admit that I am not very good and still learning. Really I'm hoping I can get some advice with the pictures I'm providing.

I am having a heck of a time with the red highlights on this cloth, and it's quite literally driving me insane. I have basecoated scab red, and the basecoat is smooth and even, but as soon as i try to add a little blood red (and thin it down dramatically) this happens. The paint just looks chalky after it dries and I'm not sure what to do to fix it. I've tried washing it down with thinned down baal red washes but the highlights all but disappear then.

good start, theres a few reasons for the paint doing that (happens with some of my rms paints) I've found just making sure to dab off all excess wash from my brush when highlighting (more so on my problem colors then normally) just takes a little bit more work to get it layered up. Other then that I use Future floor wax in with my mixing water, I'm sure someone can explain the whole surface tension thing it does I just find that it makes my paint behave itself a little better.
