120mm winged Space Marine

So off the back of my 120mm Devastator build (thanks again cassar, that was great fun) I have started a project I have wanted to do for some time. It’s not meant to be true to the fluff (and not meant to be Sanguinius or Sanguinor) just something I thought would be cool to make. The main body parts are ready for customisation. The thinner right leg leg in one of the pictures was a test and revealed that I need to build up the inside of the legs before sanding back. The finished pose I am going for is not too dissimilar to the new Mortarion model. Can’t decide what weapons to go for so any suggestions are welcome. View attachment 60746View attachment 60747

don't particularly wish to throw you a curve at this juncture....but i'm going to..fluff wise the only winged chappies you can go for would be as stated Sanguinius or certain assault type marines, jet packs blah blah blah etc, your wings don't match that at all they have bent back nativity play angel wings of a sort.
I would suggest going to the dark side Chaos Raptors they have some pretty distinctive features..merely a suggestion..they tend to be bat like wings but i think you could get away with those black crow wings no problem.

Thanks cassar, I might have a go at a chaos marine in the future, this one is not “inspired by” than faithfull to the narrative and purely because I like the idea and hope to get fairly close to the idea in my head.

Today’s progress. Refined the shape of the greaves and sorted the pelvis, cut and reposed the left knee and wired the model ready for the final pose.

Thanks for the feedback guys. My main issue is that I can’t decide what to arm him with, I keep seesawing between a big spear or halberd, giant axe, two handed sword or bolt pistol and power fist. Ideas and suggestions would be most welcome. As for the leg mystery I plan on putting him in a flying pose, not sure how yet, but I have a couple of ideas.

Halberd or spear! If nothing else then because those are a bit less common than the other. IMHO any ccw/bolt pistol-combo is a tad ordinary.

look up Sanguinery guards, nearly as blingy as Legio custodes, weaponry what about a sword and storm shield worked for me

Not sure why they didn’t attach. Here is round 2. I decided I didn’t like the decorative bits on the greaves so re did them. Will post pictures when they are a little more refined.
