Tyranid attack

I've fancied making a very dynamic duel on a small base for quite a while now. This scene of a Guardsman catching a rather nasty slash to the face is what I came up with. The Tyranid has had a couple of modifications made to it. I added talons extending from his hands, did some bulking up around his head (to give it a bit of a Cobra sort of look) and made my own spinefists from bits of various Tyranid weapons (the GW ones are just far too small for a Tyranid). I imagine it's some kind of hybrid Nid specialising in ambush and close quarter combat. The Guard is pretty standard other than the paper clip I used to pin the whole thing, which runs from the Tyranid's talon, through the blood and down into the Guard's neck. There's another pin through the base and into his right leg, and I sculpted his foot over the top. Considering how precarious it looks its all surprisingly stable too!

Cool mini? Yes. Good paintjob? Yes. You get a 10 for originality. I have never seen a nid do this! The implied speed of the nid is massive. Me like.

Really nice. Not the best painted mini here, but the diorama is so alive.. altough not for the guardsman. You can see the pain in the guardsman's face, while the expression on the tyranid is.. well there is no emotion... just like it should be!
