K-Class Command Bunker

This is the first build from our new kit: "K-Class Bunker - Command Variant". It is based off the prototype "Heavy Reinforced Bunker" that you may have seen already on CMON. Components are Dense Styrofoam, Styrene sheeting and strip, resin-cast interior panels and doors, texture paint and Herculite plaster conrete panelling. Everything is scratchbuilt by us with the exception of the small "control pads" which are made by Black Cat Bases. Computer Screens were finished off by printing out artwork onto Glossy Photo Paper and then gluing them into the resin consoles - then a coat of gloss varnish to seal them in. Figures are VOID SYntha apinted by Andrew Taylor but please do not score on the figures.

It really depends on the figures Tony. We placed the ledge height to fit a based 28mm figure firing a weapon from the shoulder when on a standard raised base. Obviously different figure ranges and different bases change that height. The bunker is sold (and available) in a DIY kit, so you change the height of the opening to suit your own figure range, basing technique and game range. You could also put in a firing step but, at the end of the day, if you make the opening big and low enough to suit ‘all figures’ you wont have a bunker anymore - just a big open window with a concrete frame... and that would make it look pretty stupid. That’s one of the big advantages of the kit format – you don’t need to worry if the bunker will suit your figures, you just make it so that it does. As such we think it suits “any” 25mm-30mm figure range, but the ‘ideal’ remains 28mm.
