CCV Mini - Reaper's Arethusa, Nereid

Well, Now that the results have been announced I can finally post this mini. This was my Chick Challenge V mini. It ended up in the Cheesecake and Display Base categories. I think I spent as much time on the base for this as I did on the mini. This had several firsts for me. The landscape was made with Super Sculpey, the rocks were made with Durham's Rock Hard Water Putty and a Realistic rock mold. The water of the pool was made with Realistic Water. I had a bit of an accident with the Realistic water (it leaked out of the dam and down the side of the base) which is what gave me the idea for the waterfall. I then used Water Effects to make the waterfall. I look forward to hearing your thoughts and comments on this one. I don't normally do minis with this much skin... ;) Cheers, Grumb P.S. - I've added closeups on the following post: 87770

I love this, cool base, well painted mini and a number of 1sts. It is always fun to experimate with a technique that you may not have done. I think that the waterfall really makes this scene. A close up of the mini itself would be cool. Happy painting. :D

Base looks awsome, but unfortunatly we can't see the mini that well. Looks like it looks good as well :D And the whole scene is really nice. Cheers. Arthur

I like tge look of the mini, I think a vertical stitching of the images would let the image be seen closer up you might want to experiment with that. Great composition and the water effect looks good and from what I can see very good paintwork. Indeed a mini to be proud of.
