Ned Kelly on Penny Farthing

Ned Kelly is an Australian folk villain along the lines of say, Billy the Kid or Robin Hood. His biggest claim to fame is his design and construction of this armored suit that he was to wear while robbing banks. It consisted of a helm and a heavy steel breast and backplate (not modeled). But if I have the history right, the first time he used it in action, some enterprisng lawman decided to shoot him where the armor wasn't: in the legs. He was brought down and hanged within 24 hours. Good grief! Nonetheless there is a movie from the 70's where Mick Jagger played Ned, and currently there is another remake in the works starring Heath Ledger. Oh, it is very unlikely that Ned EVER rode a Penny Farthing. Nonetheless it is yet another strange but wonderful model from Eureka's Pax Limpopo range . . . Questions and comments are welcome . . .

supervike
The coolness of this and the story behind it rates very high in my book. I love the muted tones. The only think disconcerting is the lack of spokes. I realized that would be impossible to sculpt, but maybe thin fishing line in one or two spots would give the impression of spokes whizzing by?

No Such Agency
Ned Kelly is cool :D What folksinger Utah Phillips would call a "class hero". There are a couple of non-bicycling Ned Kelly figures displayed at miniature-painting.net under "Visions in Putty #2: Victorian Time and Steampunk".
