On your NMM, maybe white or a really light colored highlight on just the edges or high points would make it look shiny. Wasn't sure if the brown was supposed to be leather, but some highlights would really make each piece of armor look separate from the others. Awesome tartan. I'm a sucker for plaid. :) And the boots look great too.
