Chaos Warrior Chariot
This is the GW C Series Goblin Kings Chariot, unfortunately TWOC’ed by the Nameless. It was last seen careering off, crewed by 2, also C Series (Pre-Big Hat) Chaos Dwarves, aided and abetted by a 6th Edition Chaos Hound, in order to get it re-sprayed and its plates changed. It was also my first experiment with puddles, made by attaching blobs of Blue Tac to the base before coating with PVA and sand. Once the PVA/sand mix has dried, it can be easily removed, leaving the surface of the base showing. This was then painted using black and green acrylics, adding more black (until you achieve about 50/50 mix) towards the middle to suggest depth. Once dry, gloss varnish was then painted very thickly into the depression left by the Blue, about 3 – 4 coats seems to do the trick. The rushes are bristles from a cheap paint brush, with one end dipped in superglue and then twisted to hold them and splay them out. They were then fixed into holes in the base made by rotating a scalpel blade into the plastic (all before the puddles were painted and varnished).
