You get the paint where it's supposed to be and you've choosed an interesting colour scheme. You also show some admirable patience when painting all those small bolts with a metallic colour. If you want a more even result, thin your paints more and be sure to use a good brush and a palette. A trick for doing gold is to first base with a brown colour and then apply gold as it has sucky coverage. If you want to take it a step further, wash the gold with chestnut ink or similar and hihglight with gold + silver. Rember that many thin coats are better then one thick. Yellow on black is very hard scheme to pull of. I'd use a light brown colour as a base for the yellow, that gives natural shading to the yellow. here it looks like you've used white and that gives a less natural result. Corrections with black can always be made afterwards. Finally when you thin your paints more, you'll notice that it is easier to work a bit more with your colours and you can start placing more highlights where the light might fall. i can see a bit of chipped paint on this picture also, be sure that tou paint everything and that you protect your paintwork either with a varnish or that you handle them carefully. Hope you find anything of this helpful.
