Empire Reikland Greatswords - GD Gold Winner

I've always loved the Perry Twin's work - they have a great appreciation of military history and apply it wonderfully to the work they carry out for Games Workshop. These Greatswords are no exception - they look straight out of 16th Century Germany. These pieces are primarily stock figures. The Standard-Bearer is the ltd edition piece from the Empire Army boxed set - the "Captain" being the ltd edition piece from the "Cry Havoc" event. The others have minor modifications - a head change here, some feathers there. etc. For the painting I decided to present the armour in a Burgendy rather than metallic - I wanted these guys to look a little special! I was very pleased with the final result - especially when I learned they'd gained me another Gold at this years UK Golden Demons!

This beautiful piece of art was my inspiration to start collecting Warhammer Fantasy Battle Empire army. Is there any chance to get a poster from this unit on my wall? ;)

When I saw this piece I thought, "Wow!!! It looks very historical." I can see why it got you a gold.
