Alpha Legion Champion
This one was really fun. The entire model is converted from plastic bitz, including parts from chaos warriors, khorne berzerkers, chaos beastmen, and leaves from Catachan jungle fighters. Total paint time was about 6 hours. His armour started with Midnight Blue, blended up through goblin green to a highlight of scorpion green, then muted a bit with some light blue glazes. I'm happy with the result. This model is for tabletop use, so I didn't make a real display base, but I tried to cram as much detail onto the slottabase as possible. The rock he's standing on is actually a chunk of resin flash that I chipped off of a Forge World Model (the showcase stone troll); this stuff is easy to carve into very realistic, but light and workable, basing material.
