Dark Reaper Exarch

A Dark reaper exarch directing fire, illuminated by a nearby explosion. I first wanted to do a transition between blue and red, but it evolved into a light-effect. My first. The green light-effect on the back was just a try to ease up the blue colour-scheme further. I'm pretty pleased with the result. While experimenting I found out that less is more, when it comes to some light effects. And that different materials should reflect the light in different ways, or else it just looks like you've spilled paint over the figure. I think that it's also an idea to drop some of the realism, as it could spoil the final result.. the effect looking overdone. comments are as always welcome. :) I'm not too satisfied with my photographic qualities. Some things look wierd. But I'll try to improve further.

waaayyyyy cool lighting effects!! most realistic and, as you said, not too overdone. the combination of different lighting effects is usually not just a problem in regard of creating realism, but to provide the mini (and the viewer) a definite focus or the lack of it, often watering down the overall effect. you hit it just right, making for a splendid mini! by the way:as your freehand is excellent, try to find more places to use your tremendous skills! Happy painting!
