Arctic Marine

The theme for this marine is winter. I imagine him running around in snow and mud all day which is why his armour is in such a bad state. I chose white because of the winter theme and then I used blue and turquoise because they are cold colours, to further emphasize the arctic cold. I like him a lot, especially the rust and the dirty white armour. The base is made from two pieces of plasticard and some pieces of paper clip to pin them together. Because I don't have any snow material I just mixed sand and white glue for the snow effect. I think it looks OK, but I think I will invest in some real scenic snow soon. Hope you'll like him! /Anja

I really like the scheme, I think this was in a recent White Dwarf. My only criticism is that I don't like the bases where they all seem to be standing on raised plating. I just get this image of the entire army standing on these weird little raised plates. Why are they there? Why all the plates? IMHO, it just detracts. Otherwise, you have a great scheme and the shoulder insignia is a great way to designate different troopers in the army.

This is a great mini. I am not a huge fan of space marines....they tend to be static and lifless but this guy is full of story. I love the blues (they work wonderful). The base is very cool and the rust looks REAL. Great job. Although your base looks wonderful some senic snow might make you like it even more.....:)
