Terminator Captain

This figure was my entry in 40k single miniature at the UK Golden Demon Awards 2004. It made first cut but did not place for a trophy. Ah well... My basic plan for the figure was to produce a 'modern terminator'. The Grey Knights had shown a certain amount about where the GW studio was going with new Terminators. And I'd seen some pics of the forthcoming plastics. Well, I started with a Grey Knight Terminator as making him big otherwise was going to be difficult and probably compromise the result. The gun arm is taken from the regular Terminator Captain and the Powerfist from the plastic Space Wolf Sprue. The head is from the Cadian Imperial Guard plastic set. You can see from the above pics that the rest is a whole lot of greenstuff. Conversion time was approx 15 hours and I think he took about 20 hours to paint (wasn't timing though). Despite his not placing I think he's probably the best piece I've done for Golden Demon and I'm still very fond of him :)
