2473: Aramil Elven Mage

Painted for a PC Evocation wizard in my D&D campaign. The top of the staff was painted to look as if its twisting into the beginnings of a fire based spell effect but hasn't yet reached ignition temperature yet. I was a bit nervous atempting a star field on the cloak and I did have to redo it once before I felt it looked correct but at some point you need to say its done and move on. But overall, I'm fairly pleased with how it turned out.

Personally? I think this is exceptional stuff. Only "would be nice" items are: 1) a bit more red in the staff wood; perhaps with a little more highlight (not much) 2) eyebrow depth. 3) a tad more blacklining between the hand and the staff (unless this is just a photographic anomoly, in which case ignore) 4) additional basing magic, since I think your evocative freehand and color combinations deserve it. 5) wee bit more highlighting on the boot. Overall, this is really nice. The NMM gold and the aforementioned star field are particularly sharp.

Excellent work on the starfield; however, the rest of the piece needs more depth. Try more highlighting with washes and drybrushing, and do some mixing and blending of colors.
