Valten on horse

here's a mini I did about 5 months ago, but I never got around to finnishing the base until recently. This is my first attempt at snow, and it didn't come out very good, I tried using baking powder ( thanks U4 welcome for the advice) but for some reason mine just became brownish upon drying, loosing the nice snow effect it had when applied so I tried to repaint it using a blue ink washe and then white drybrushing, but dosn't look that great. Anyways any comment are welcome.

I really like the gritty/real feel to this mini which is emphasised by the browned snow effect which I feel is more realistic than the blue. The tail does seem to be the weak point though - maybe a darker colour or more highlighting would give more depth when photographed.

Looks ok I think a different background for the photo would be better, the horses skin tones look good I think it would look better with a black tail though. Valten needs his hammer haft straightening out a bit. The base looks ok shame you lost the original look however. It is possible that the brown stain bled through from the base material. Try sealing the base with a clear varnish (matte) next time and that may cure the problem. Nice work again.
